Pronounced Quake. Simple but beautiful, the Quaich has long been associated with kinship and love as far back as the 1500’s.
Originally a basic domestic utensil originating in the West Highlands of Scotland, it was traditionally used both for “supping” porridge and drinking ale. This then over the centuries became identified as the traditional toasting cup of welcome and good wishes.
Nowadays quaichs are often given at Christenings, Weddings and Retirements for a Celebration and “Good Luck” gift.
