Our beautiful Quaich is 100% Scottish made and hand finished in Port Glasgow.
Our handcrafted Quaich’s are made from a range of woods including Oak, Ash, Beech and Cherry. We would like you to experience the Quaich as it should be used and therefore we hand varnish with food safe oil to allow “Strong drinks to be partaken of”
Pronounced Quake. Simple but beautiful, the Quaich has long been associated with kinship and love as far back as the 1500’s.
Originally a basic domestic utensil originating in the West Highlands of Scotland, it was traditionally used both for “supping” porridge and drinking ale. This then over the centuries became identified as the traditional toasting cup of welcome and good wishes.
Nowadays quaichs are often given at Christenings, Weddings and Retirements for a Celebration and “Good Luck” gift.
